Waggle Waggle What?

How did we come up with this name and what does it mean you wonder? Shelly and I (that’s Peter) were sitting around trying to figure out what we ought to call the rest of our lives…

I said, General Galactic would be cool… Which is totally true, it is cool (don’t bother I registered the domain name). But shelly was all “it’s too rough and masculine or whatever, what about using somehow the Waggle Dance?”

Aha!

Waggle Dance, you see, refers to the dance that bee’s do to communicate pollen resource information to each-other within a hive. From wikipedia:

Waggle dance is a term used in beekeeping and ethology for a particular figure-eight dance of the honeybee. By performing this dance, successful foragers can share with their hive mates information about the direction and distance to patches of flowers yielding nectar or pollen, or both, and to water sources.

Rad! We hope to empower people to communicate more efficiently and to have a better time doing it. So Waggle Labs seemed like a perfect fit.
